Here they are some (of the many) ideas about what to do and see

At just 1.5 miles from our B&B, towards France, the following interests are to be found: the very famous Hanbury Gardens, the Balzi Rossi grottoes with the adjacent museum, the “Fish Eggs” beach and the Capo Mortola beaches (with both a naturist and gay section).

Just after Riviera dei Fiori (Italian Flower Riviera), beyond the border, the Costa Azzurra (Cote D’Azur) begins, stretching from Menton to Cannes and Saint-Tropez. The amazingly beautiful French villages and towns facing the Mediterranean sea are definitely a must see. The most reputed touristic resorts include: Montecarlo, Eze Village, Beaulieu, Villefranche, Nizza, S.Paul de Vence and Juan Les Pins.

In the opposite direction you might instead reach in not more than five minutes’ drive, the town of Ventimiglia: a beautiful town where you may visit the Old Medieval Town ( second in rank of importance all over Liguria) rich in important monuments, the Roman Theatre and the archaeological site. Besides cultural visits, you might join in the many events are carried out throughout the year: first of all the Battaglia di Fiori (Flowers’ Battle, held in June), featuring a parade of carts decorated with flower-coated sculptures; Agosto Medioevale, (Medieval Parade, a parade where people dressed in Medieval period costumes walk though the most typical town areas. Last, but not least, you should not miss the famous open-air market, held every Friday. It is the biggest all over Italy.

Not to be missed it also the splendid inland area enriched by ancient, picturesque small villages. Just to mention a few of them: Dolceacqua, Pigna, Apricale, Seborga where you can taste typical, local food, wine and oil, as well as looking from the mountain tops splendid views of the coastline towns and resorts of Riviera di Ponente (Westernmost Riviera).

After Ventimiglia Eastwards you will find the towns of Bordighera, Ospedaletti and Sanremo. The latter, renowned for its Festival della Canzone, a song contest very popular in Italy, it also known for its Casino and the nice Russian church.

Then, if you are a sports enthusiast, you might practice a countless number of activities such as : scuba diving, rafting, kayaking, trekking, paraglide, golf, tennis, mountaineering, hiking, mountain biking, boat trips, horse riding excursions.
